Salam,

People have been protesting in front of the SUK building. If they are really the voice of people of the area. They would have to halt the project. They are the people there and they know better.

It is quite disappointing that the deterioration of environment around the area has been really serious because of the current pig farms. This has been happening for a long time and should have been reported a long time ago. I know perfectly that this is the lame political tactic being done by Utusan Melayu but still, action has to be taken to improve the situation. I am still disappointed, why is it NOW when the situation has been really bad that they want to report it? Why not long time ago? When the pollution has started taking its toll on the environment? Where are these people complaining, now?

For now, I think the government needs to take the view of the people in the area. The whole area needs to be cleaned up. Before looking to move other pig-rearing farms to the area, make sure the current farm is improved SIGNIFICANTLY before doing anything else. All the pollution needs to go first.

So for now, halt the project. Listen to the people’s views, first!

Explain to them how this project can clean all the mess up. The people are to be blamed and they can’t put the blame on the new project if they had not complain as the pollution has been there for a long time.

IF they had, then it’s the former government that has done no action on it unless the pollution suddenly appear after March 8th (I don’t think so).

For the new government, to heck with what the former government did, you guys have no choice but CLEAN THE MESS UP with whatever method including modernize the farm and have more control measure if it works. And explain to the people how it will help them.

Thank You

I believe this is a PR disaster that can be avoided.

Well first of all Khalid should not mention that the project was approved in Khir Toyo’s time as Khalid still has the power to cancel the project if he wants to. The way he blamed the previous government is as if he tried to excuse himself away from being responsible of making such decision (which is not the case in Syabas free water decision).

Second, there is no proper explanation that the RM100 million money does not come from state coffers, and that the pig farming project will actually benefit the Muslims in long term because all other legal/illegal pig farming with improper sewage system will be relocated to a single controlled environmental-friendly farming.

The one single issue that concerns me is for the Pakatan Rakyat to lose big in Malay base support due to this issue if not tackled properly. Why have the most sophisticated pig farming in a district populated by a majority that considers anything to do with “khinzir” highly sensitive in the first place. We already have the largest Alcohol plant in South East Asia with big brand advertisement facing the Federal Highway under the BN administration. I remembered the story of an American Muslim convert who told his taxi driver to drive him back to Subang Airport because he thought he mistakenly landed on a wrong country after the taxi drove by the Carlsberg plant.

It is explained but not in the mainstream media clearly. For an obvious reason.
Is it really not important? Now people are complaining about the pollution ALL OF A SUDDEN and so, the government need to do something about it. By? Try to come up with a solution that can reduce the pollution made by these farms and somebody has already agreed to invest on it. So, problem solved. And then suddenly, it is twisted as if the project will bring much more pollution.
It is a SOLUTION for the pollution problem and do you think this problem is not that important? They maybe are reviewing all the former government’s latest decision and they just agree to go on with this one and not with the water deal.Khalid already said it..Check your fact if you are really concerned.

Well the explanation is not convincing. None of my Muslim friends who voted for PKR in the past election likes the idea of having a 100m ringgit pig farm in Selangor. Why the locals are not consulted first? How about attaining rough samples of feedback from Selangor Muslims?
