Schism vs Fitna
April 20, 2008
Salam,
Maybe some of you guys have heard of this movie Schism which is kind of like a parody of Fitna. It uses verses in the Bible instead of The Quran and some videos and pictures of terrorism and cruelties by the armies, US or not. However, as we might have known all of them are just a bunch of crap trying to make a religion looks really-really bad as how Fitna do to Islam. The most important part of this movie, which I missed the last time i saw it is really, the ending. It just lift the movie a little bit higher than Mr Wilders’ Fitna.
Against the Kelau Dam Project
April 15, 2008
Salam,
I am still yet to read more on the matter of this project. But for now, i would like to join the campaign in going against the Kelau Dam Project. This project involves the construction of a dam 30 meters high taking a land area up to 24 km2. Indeed, it’s a vast area of rainforest.
The main agenda of this project is to cater the need of water from the Klang Valley. As the demand of water from the big population of Klang Valley increasing tremendously, the need of a new source of water is increasing. Lack of land in Selangor, I SUPPOSE, gives the government the plan to build another dam in Pahang.
Two main reasons I am against this project is:
1 – Pros vs Cons. Yes, we need more water. However, is it OK to destroy vast area of hundred years old rain forest. For me? NO. I’ve read about the proposal from the new government to gather new source of water from underground. The proposed area is in Batang Padang, Perak where it is said that it can produce about 2000 million litre per day. The consumption of water by Selangor currently is 2700-3000 mld. As this will not be the sole supplier of water. This should be sufficient. If not, try finding others.
2 – Orang Asli community in Pahang. The Orang Asli community is now so far advanced. They have a community website. Probably ran by some concerned citizens. A lot of these original settlers of Tanah Melayu will be displaced. What to they get from it? Besides having Klang Valley chance to grow more rapidly.
So, all of us should give more support to this campaign and get more people to be aware of this situation. Destroying more forest is just not worth it. We have done so much damage already to the environment. This is our task, people, as the khalifah on earth.
Note: I don’t have much time to learn about the issue and project. Correction addition on facts are highly welcomed. Above are pretty much my limited infos and i just want to let people know for now.
Sufiah
April 10, 2008
Salam,
It is quite a big issue right now. Although i am not particularly interested in an issue of one little girl who seemed to be spoilt.
However, i went on my daily routine reading from Rocky’s Bru and found this link.
It’s a.. blog. By the family of Sufiah. Her mother and the other siblings. I read about her on the mainstream media a little and know the basic story but from my reading from the family’s blog and the pictures of her childhood there. I realized that the mainstream media has done it again. This time, to this poor little family.
THUS,
I feel that it is my responsibility to spread this blog to others so that they can get the right info first hand from the family without being sensationalized by the news to make it looks interesting.
A Very Interesting Speech
April 10, 2008
As-Salam Alaikum,
The speech is by Moez Masoed and is very touching indeed. Let’s ponder on what he say and feel it thoroughly in our heart.
Thank You
Cadangan on, the Pigs again
April 9, 2008
Salam,
People have been protesting in front of the SUK building. If they are really the voice of people of the area. They would have to halt the project. They are the people there and they know better.
It is quite disappointing that the deterioration of environment around the area has been really serious because of the current pig farms. This has been happening for a long time and should have been reported a long time ago. I know perfectly that this is the lame political tactic being done by Utusan Melayu but still, action has to be taken to improve the situation. I am still disappointed, why is it NOW when the situation has been really bad that they want to report it? Why not long time ago? When the pollution has started taking its toll on the environment? Where are these people complaining, now?
For now, I think the government needs to take the view of the people in the area. The whole area needs to be cleaned up. Before looking to move other pig-rearing farms to the area, make sure the current farm is improved SIGNIFICANTLY before doing anything else. All the pollution needs to go first.
So for now, halt the project. Listen to the people’s views, first!
Explain to them how this project can clean all the mess up. The people are to be blamed and they can’t put the blame on the new project if they had not complain as the pollution has been there for a long time.
IF they had, then it’s the former government that has done no action on it unless the pollution suddenly appear after March 8th (I don’t think so).
For the new government, to heck with what the former government did, you guys have no choice but CLEAN THE MESS UP with whatever method including modernize the farm and have more control measure if it works. And explain to the people how it will help them.
Thank You
Kandang Babi III
April 8, 2008
Salam,
I read today’s Utusan. I am a little bit more concern on the Pig-rearing project in Sepang now seeing today’s headline. Yes, i believe that they are just trying to make the new government look bad. But i have my concern because of the pictures showing that the environment around the current Kandang has already been badly polluted. It’s kind of funny they are putting all the blame on the new government. In addition, they are quoting the Ketua Kampung. As many people might be aware of, these ketua kampungs mostly are not willing to work with new government as they feel that they only work for BN. Thus, i think they are just voicing out BN’s agenda and not what the people around there think.
The pollution does, however require some attention. I don’t know if the admin has already take a look at the condition there. Based on ONE picture, it looks kind of serious. If the NEW modern technique of Rearing Pig that is being introduced will not be able to clean that mess up. I will say NO to them. But if yes, Yes, PLEASE!
Bak kata orang tua mat saleh, kill two birds with one stone. Clean that mess up and swipe off the other pig farms around the state.
Just as my last post, the description given sounds promising IF done AND supervised carefully. I also read that the farm will be indoor, Air-Conditioned!
Whatever it is, CLEAN THE MESS UP! It’s FREAKING FILTHY, currently.

Additional Note: The ketua kampung in the Utusan was even brought all the way to German to see the technology. Quite some investment there quoting what he said in Utusan. He said he still disagree with the project although he has seen the modern technique but I still wonder where was him when the former government approved the project. I WONDER….
Kepada Penentang “Kandang Babi Moden”
April 8, 2008
Salam Alaikum,
More explanation has been given. The MB has already spoken and these are taken from Teresa Kok’s blog who made the issue popular.
The project has been approved by the previous government in the meeting on January 30th, 2008.
The new government feels that there’s nothing wrong with it and verified the approval on April 2nd’s meeting.
The area in Ladang Tumbuk, Mukim Batu Kuala Langat is already used as the main pig farming area in Selangor.
The project passed the high standardization by Kementerian Pertanian dan Industri Asas Tani, Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Alam Sekitar aka The Federal Government Standard.
All waste product of the farm will be used for electricity generation and water as well as food production for the farm’s usage.
No more pig farm will be approved outside the area and all pig farms will need to move to the area. This move is to ensure the easiness to control the operation in which everybody will have to agree, needs an extensive care to keep them clean.
The state government also feels that they intend to do a one stop farming for other farming products.

Now, to address specific issue by certain individuals, the area is already there and has been used extensively by pig farms. Thus, it should not be a “NOT IN MY BACKYARD” issue for the people there as they already have it there. It will be bigger, more control, and modernized method to ensure cleanliness.
Ok, Salam Alaikum.
Tangkapan Khalwat Non-Muslim
April 7, 2008
Salam,
This is one issue that has been brought up recently. It was brought up by some IKIM personnel few days ago (for some who think it’s PAS’s.. hehe). My first impression, what??
It was not much of a thinking. I just feel that it’s kind of unfair to get non-Muslims under the Sharia Law as they don’t have faith to it. However, after a little bit of thinking. Then, Non-Muslims can do whatever they like with a Muslim and get away with it while the Muslim will be convicted. You tell me, is that fair? In the first place, the Muslim must be so stupid allowing it to happen, maybe not realizing he/she is a Muslim.
IMO, this IKIM guy is just trying to protect the Muslim from being the victim. Yes, it is unfair to put them under the Sharia, but it’s not fair if they are not convicted. From what i read recently, Sharia law will NOT be implied on them but the civil law. Now, it’s fair is it?
Now, let’s look at it Morally. Is it OK for even Non-Muslims cuddling around in public or private spaces? Anybody think it’s morally ethical to show non-decent act. Is it their right to freely do anything they like or is it our right to keep our community out of immoral behavior by youths and having social illness? It’s not just about the Muslims. It is the right of the community to have a moderate social life with excellent social structure ensuring a good development physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Want it easy? Take it out of Sharia Law and put it under civil law for those people that are so sensitive on the word “Islam” and “Sharia” and those human right activist (Seemingly forgotten the right of people to have a socially excellent community for being too indulged in fighting for the right of individuals wanting to have a good time with their partners outside marriage). Put in under the civil law and then imply it to everybody equally. Don’t have to give the reason because of Islamic law. It’s for the benefit of the society.
Update:
However. Ok, i forgot to add this. Law implementation is nothing that can correct minds that have been adulterated. It should be done not in a way of punishing but more as an act of preventing. This goes back all the way to our basic education. Not just Muslims have to learn it. Everyone needs to learn it. How important it is to have limit in relationships to ensure the excellence in social and community life. The responsibility goes not for the formal education in Schools only, but parents, friends, and relatives, brothers and sisters need to take some measure in advising and educating the community. We do not want the feeling of the lack of freedom with the laws but let it feels that it is our responsibility to keep the community healthy in every way. So… Education before Law!
Phew. I just let it floww.. Now, time to correct me.
